I don't know where to begin, I am so excited. Well, first off, my husband and I never even got a chance to send a congratulations card for the new baby. Instead our son CALLED us on Friday and said he was coming to see us today and BRINGING THE BOYS!!!!! Oh goodness gracious, I almost fainted. I barely slept last night and I kept thinking maybe it was a trick, like the last time he came, or it was just a ploy to get money, or privileges or who knows what. Anyway, he did come and he brought all three boys. Remember I had never met the second one or the third one. His wife did not come, which is strange, especially since the newest one is only 8 weeks old, but I got to see my grandsons, and our son told us that life is too short and he wants his sons to know us and his other cousins! He really did seem sincere, and this just felt different somehow. I am not kidding myself, and I am not stupid, I know things are far from perfect and there is a long way to go, and I am still not quite sure how his wife plays into all of this. The things they/he/she have said have been horrible, and if she still feels like that, then I am not sure how she can ever be around us, but for now, I am just so happy. He said the "no contact" rule is null and void, and we can call, text, send presents, come to their house....basically anything we want. So yes, I got my Christmas present a week early. God answers prayers! Praise be to God!

Poodle, I'm sitting here with tears dripping down my cheeks... I'm so utterly thrilled for you! Words can't even begin to express how happy this makes me; it gives us all hope that God is working on our EC's hearts and minds even when we don't see the evidence. All things work together for good!!!
May the healing and reconciliation be true and deep, and may your whole family experience joy and spending this Christmas "together" again! Please keep us posted on your miracle. Because really, it's all our miracle!!!

A true miracle! An amazing answer to prayer! A Christmas blessing. I rejoice with you. It must have been magical to see these precious grandchildren.
Your DIL may have wanted to see how well received your son was before she joined in. She may come for the next visit. I am glad the visit was with your son and the children only the first time.
This is a true testimony to what God can do. Please keep us updated.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah..... This is a true miracle. Poodlegirl, I cannot even imagine your joy. And the way your son said, "no contact" rule is null and void, and we can call, text, send presents, come to their house,..." , I would have broken down sobbing and praising God. You actually experienced a miracle of God and were the recipient of His Love and a most precious gift. I keep thinking about how we are celebrating the birth of God's Son and, this Christmas, God gave you your grandsons, including the newborn. I wish I could be with you, in person, right now and give you the biggest hug ever. Soooooo happy for you! And as everyone said, your reconciliation gives each of us Hope.
PS When you can, please tell us about the visit. Merry Christmas!

Oh, this is more than wonderful. Your victory is our victory, too. You wanna know something about prayer? It's not that God is swayed by the amount who join together in prayer. It's that God is delighted to share His answer to the prayers with all who prayed. So we share in this miracle and pray that it lasts for a good, long time.
