Adults who do not speak to a parent

This is a link to one of my favorite older articles written by Denis Prager. I think it's right on and really resonates with me still.
My opinion is that the Bible warns us that there will be 'perilous' times when the love of many will grow cold and many will be deceived. I think we are living in those days. Still, it's hard to take sometimes and I know that I never could have imagined this would include one of my own children.
Society now largely encourages and supports the shutting out of one's parents, the blaming, the not taking responsibility. Even many of those of 'faith' have turned their backs on the Word of God and only tolerate that which 'tickles the ear.' We are to be sober, vigilent, putting on the whole armor .... so that we are not deceived. Pray without ceasing that we not be caught up in the chaos of things that don't matter that constantly swirl around us and take our focus off of Him.
I am reminded by a personal loss recently, we are only one breath away from eternity ... what will really matter then, when we see Jesus face to face! I want Him to say, "well done faithful servant" ...
