I believe that many of you can agree with me, just when we think we are doing good with our emotions regarding our estrangements, something happens to trigger them to resurface again.
In my case, it was a small comment made by my daughter, but today is the second day I am thinking of my estranged grandson. Yesterday, my daughter (who has communication with my es and his children) told me my grandson just bought a new car and went on to describe it. Again, it was a small comment, but it stayed with me last night and into today.
I know this will fade but isn't it amazing how things could trigger the old feelings? Just sharing on here because I know you all know how I am feeling. Grateful for our site.

I understand how one comments can set off our emotions especially in estrangement. I will pray that you will have God's comfort at this time. God bless you.

I'm sorry, JeepGirl... Estrangement roars its ugly head when it's least expected, doesn't it? I know that we can cling to Him and also do all that we can to still live with purpose & happiness, but darn it, if it's not just HARD sometimes! Sending you hugs and prayers...

I'm sorry Jeep ... those 'whatevers' just hit us ... and bam, we get sucked down. I get it and I feel for you ... It'll be 8 years for me this August ... I for the most part think I'm fine, then there's the 'whatever' is said or happens ... and bam .... Good news is I think we get our feet under us a bit faster after we have been at this for a while ... maybe it's all the practice! Reminds me of the ocean ... the waves you see coming you can sort of brace for ... get your feet under you ... but it's just when you think it's calm between sets of waves ... that that unexpected wave comes when you have your back turned for a second ... knocks you off your feet in a split second and then the wave sucks you down and plants your face in the sand. Oh, it's only a few seconds ... but you do wonder whether you will ever breathe again! ... just like estrangement ... sucks!

What a vivid and true description, difficult. I just posted video of "Eye of the Storm" and it contains lots of waves.
