I love how reading God's Word never fails to comfort me. As with most of you, I suspect, our situations with our EC's are always floating around in the back of our minds, so sometimes verses will just jump out at you regarding them. While reading during my quiet time this morning, I read this from Isaiah 54:16 & 17:
More often than not, my mind only "sees" that it's my son who is accusing me and has taken a stand against the truth that we were (are) good parents. When in fact, it's the devil that has deceived him and is trying to destroy us all through those lies. But God is greater! He wins! And the lies my EC - and yours - believes and tells will be refuted!

I love that verse and what you have shared. Estrangement is of the enemy for sure. He causes damage and destruction but the good news in your post- God wins! He is our defense. For this we can be most grateful.

Amen luke! God is greater, and He knows the truth about the deception our EC's spread.

Jesus warned us that in the 'last days' these things would occur ... we shouldn't be surprised I guess. I heard Joel Rosenberg speak the other day on youtube and he was talking about the falling apart of families ... just part of Satan's plan to distract us from what we need to be focused on.... Jesus is coming soon!

Loved your post, Luke. Thanks for reminding us how God wants us to see things. If we see things correctly, we will pray correctly and the enemy doesn't want that.
Difficulttime2, Joel Rosenberg has visited our church and has been in this area several times, this year. Yesterday, someone came into the book/gift store I work in and bought one of his books and I was reminded of some of his messages.

If I may share a scripture that always lifts my heart- Jeremiah 31:15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
Praise God that He says there is hope in our future. I feel as if God is speaking directly to us, I planted borders in my children's lives-love for God and His word. These are the borders my children shall come again to. Praise you, Jesus!! And when I am painfully aware of my own faults and shortcomings, I realize God loves me like Ephriam...
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.
He will have mercy upon us. I believe.
