Not really a big deal, but just thought I would mention this. Once again, my subbing. My diL works in the cafeteria in the school I was subbing in today. Now that my granddaughter is in high school, I usually don't see her mom because when I am in school, diL is usually in the lunch room. Today was a shortened day and they were having parent conferences so they wanted to make sure the school looked spiffy. As I was leaving for the day and walking down the hallway, I saw my diL sweeping the hallway floor heading in my direction. I know this sounds crazy, but I thought she was looking right at me, no expression on her face. Then she put her head down as she came closer. I thought for sure she would turn around but she kept coming. When she was close enough to be acknowledged, I said "Hi, ......" She replied, "Hi" and kept on sweeping past me. Not mean, not friendly....just "hi". And, she came so close that I don't believe she would have said "hi" to me if I didn't say it and that she would have just kept on sweeping.
Honestly, the situation didn't bother me at all. I just wanted to do the right thing and behave the way I should. I told my dh but I have no intention of mentioning it to my daughter who talks to her brother and siL. I am sure one of them will say to my daughter, "Did your mom mention that she saw me?" And I don't want my dd to be able to say "yes". I learned a long time ago, that they talked more than I realized. I wish I had been quieter years ago and did not share as much as I did, even with my dd. Cannot go back in time, only forward and, hopefully, I have become wiser.
