Should we really be surprised that estrangement is happening to so many of us? I know it is a silent epidemic, but with each day that passes, it seems that estrangement is becoming more and more 'the norm.' You can turn on the tv and at every turn there is some snot nose kid spouting off in disdain of their parents or some authority figure.... You know, the Bible tells us that this will be EXACTLY the state of things before His coming....
Why does it seem that everyone else is going about their day like business as usual?? Interestingly, ... as in the days of Noah ... they didn't see the signs.... But we are not ignorant concerning these things... The signs are all around us ... The King is coming, THE KING IS COMING!!!!
2 Timothy 3:1-5 .....'This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.'
Matthew 24:37-39 ...'But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.'

Perhaps not, but i was. If you had told me this was going to be my life...divorced and getting out of an abusive marriage, my child having nothing to do with me, my relationship with my other child shaky, all kinds of problems like unemployment, health................I wouldnt have believe THAT would be my day to day existence. But the Bible says it will be so.........may He guide us and grant us physical and emotional strength and peace

In the beginning, I was more than surprised that I was estranged, I was shocked and couldn't believe what was happening. As years went by and I was on DS and read books, articles, whatever I could get my hands on pertaining to estrangement, I realized I wasn't alone and, yes, it was a silent epidemic.
In my women's bible study today, we talked about our personal trials and sufferings. (We are in II Corinthians) We focused on the scripture which tells us that God will comfort us in our sufferings, meaning He will walk with us and give us strength to endure. He also said we will go through these sufferings in order that we will be able to comfort others with the same comfort God has given us. I thought of all of you and this site.
"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." II Corinthians 1:3-4
