I read this about our new website on PEACE and it made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe DS was the same way and I just didn't know it. I have to leave for a memorial service this morning, but will be back later to read responses. Could someone explain this for me?

I think anyone can come on to most support group sites. It is good we have user names that are anonymous.

If we Private Message a "friend", I believe that is private, right? But I get it..... take common sense precautions when we post.

This is me, IGaveUp, just checking that things are okay and saw your question about privacy.
Personal messages are definitely private. No one can see them other than the sender and the receiver(s).
Whatever you post here can be seen by anyone doing an internet search. That's kind of a good news, bad news type of thing. The good news is that that is a great way to get new members. The bad news is that yes, any guests on your site will see them. So, it's best not to use anyone's real name.
If I can help further let me know!!!
